Hays Goddard founded his firm's predecessor in 1975. Prior to his decision to focus his practice on family law, Hays Goddard practiced personal injury, real estate, banking law and estate planning. As his practice grew in the area of family law, he determined to focus his practice in that area and has done so for the past 20 year.

Hays Goddard has served as a Pro Tem Judge on numerous cases. Mr. Goddard was the Primary Hearing Officer of the King County Human Rights Commission, in which capacity he served a term of one year. Mr. Goddard has served as a hearing officer for the Northshore School District, hearing and deciding cases involving children with special needs.

Hays Goddard is a member of the American Bar Association, the Washington State Bar Association, the King County Bar Association and the East King County Bar Association. Hays Goddard is a member of the Family Law Section of the American Bar Association.

Mr. Goddard is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States District Court, Division 9, the Washington State Supreme Court, the Washington State Court of Appeals, and the Washington State Superior Court.
